YHA Brisbane

Life in Brisbane YHA.

Arriving in Brisbane and trying to find our way around, we had loan of a sat nav which we would not been able to get through the city traffic without.
When we arrived we unloaded the car in the unloading bay, as no parking on the street and put the bags in storage, asked the way to area of Brisbane to drop the hire car off. Luckily the car hire office gave us a lift back.



The reception area is open and very welcoming, on the left is the Drifters cafe/bar area plus a bank of computers one of 2 Internet areas.

This hostel has a new building really well laid out on 5 floors
We entered the building on level 3  which is the access to both buildings plus the 2 lifts. our room is on level 1, which has 1 of 2 Tv lounges with a large flat screen Tv on the wall, with its own control panel. Access to the secured car park from this level.
Level 2 is the rainforest level which has a room with it's own conference facilities, the laundry containing washing machines, dryers plus an outside hanging area

The hostel is very well decorated and has an area of hanging surfboards hanging from the 5th floor stairwell.

Level 5 has a games room, main Tv lounge which YHA events are held, Like movie nights with free popcorn, Tuesday nights are travel advice/promotional nights . Tuesday, we attended 'Jump the beach' talk plus a chance to win 11000 ft free fall, by playing cames and blowing bubbles.
Every night was themed in the Drifters Cafe.
Also on  this level is the Kitchen with 10 gas hobs a bank of fridges plus dry storage cupboards and access to the swimming pool.

The view from the pool on the roof, gave you a good sight of the city, day and night!!!










We enjoyed are time here the team are great the other backpackers plus none backpacking guests were great, watch out for the Americans who are very loud when they play drinking games.
