Mission Beach

  • Get High
  • Get Wet
  • Get Laid
Mission Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the billboard about 20k before Mission Beach, should read Get High to Get Laid Soaking Wet.

This beautiful area was wrecked by Cyclone Yasi, the rain forest canopy totally taken off people lost business and some houses were wrecked, they only had water and power back in the last 6 to 8 weeks.

The beach took alot of pounding and the palm trees look really wrecked with their roots above the ground as if all the sand has been taken away. Even so they still make the beach look beautiful wether standing or leaning towards the sea. The beach was very long almost identical to 4 mile beach.

Misson Beach is a very small amd peaceful place to visit the pace of life slows down here, no need to rush anywhere when you have such a beautiful place to chillout in. The residents of Mission Beach are recovering slowly and are so welcoming to visitors and tell everyone they see that they are open for business.

Paranella Park
Paranella Grounds
From Mission Beach 45 minutes by car we went to a beautiful place called paranella park, the ruins of a castle built by a Spanish man called Jose, who had a dream that he wanted to build something beautiful so he worked hard and saved his money, while working in the sugar cane industry to fulfill his dream. The moral of the story is if you have a dream and want it badly enough you will make it happen!!!

The hostel that we stayed in was run by a man called Richard who made us feel very welcome, he was the owner and the only person to contact us by email, giving us information about his hostel, if we needed a lift and to explain about the damage of the cyclone, and would we bare with him. The hostel is located along porter promenade and was very pleasant the room was clean and bright, although recovering from the cyclone all amenities were sorted. Replacement furniture was being delivered the day we left. The young receptionist was outstanding she knew everything about the local area, down to the size and condition of the roads and where there were good places to see. If everyone was very helpful, even the builders who stayed there (helping to repairs buildings) giving us ideas of where to stay.

We took a drive into Tully on Saturday afternoon, big mistake it was closed, half day closing. But at least we had a look at the huge Gum boot they had there.

Mission Beach center of Free Fall Parachuting : Note if your Free Fall Parachuting  Experience DVD does not turn out right and you are French Females dont make mistake of being invited for a complimentary drink......it takes all night!!!!!

We Liked Mission Beach once they are back to normal it will be a lovely place to spend some time.
